Daniel Hughes becomes a Demon in Rookie Draft

Hampton Rovers and Sandringham Zebras player Daniel Hughes was picked up by Melbourne with selection 25 in today’s 2005 NAB Rookie Draft. General Manager of Recruiting and List Management Craig Cameron said; “We’re happy with the players that we selected in today’s draft and hopefully with some development and guidance they will prove to be good footballers.

 

Daniel played with Melbourne‘s aligned VFL Club Sandringham where his pace and football nous was noticeable.

 

General Manager of Recruiting and List Management Craig Cameron said, ?Daniel is a very clever utility with good pace and possesses a huge vertical leap. He possesses good hand skills’.

 

Due to Sandringham commitments, Hughes managed only a handful of games with the Rovers in 2005 kicking 7 goals. He first played for Hampton in 2001 and has also played 43 junior games equating to a total of 52 club games.
