Hampton Rovers player Archie Roberts has been selected by Essendon at pick 54 in the 2023 AFL National Draft.
Archie has played 109 games for the Rovers, debuting in the under 9’s in 2013, and is the younger brother of current senior Hampton Rovers player, Oscar.
Recruited from the Sandringham Dragons, the general defender has been touted as a potential first rounder and joins the Bombers as a highly-rated ball user with a strong speed/endurance profile.
Roberts earned All Australian honours playing for Vic Metro this year and was a member of Sandringham Dragons and Haileybury College’s respective Talent League and APS Premierships.
He becomes the ninth Rovers player currently on an AFL list, including 2023 Premiership star Brayden Maynard. View all Hampton Rovers AFL players >
