Reserves

2011 Reserves season report

In what was a tough season, I was proud of the players that chose to stick out the season. In the reserves we had a large turnover of players, including me, having to pull on a jumper.  A total of 69 players playing reserves football was an indication of what a juggling act it has been trying to field a consistent side.

With only 1 win and a handful of competitive performances, it wasn’t a season that we could look back on with for many memorable moments. However we did manage to get games into some players who otherwise may not of been seen as reserves players and also we had the opportunity to blood some under 19 and international players, which will all have positive flow on effects for the club.

Congratulations to all the award winners, in particular Adam Power and Ben Kezilas, who won the Best and fairest and runners up trophies. A thank you to all the players that played in the reserves this season, I know you gave it your all and I thank you for not giving in!

Thank you to my Assistant Jaye Macumber and runner Mick Dove for their help and support throughout the year.

A thank you to the committee, trainers, team mangers and the senior coaching group, in particular Russell Barnes for his tireless efforts, Freddy with the 19s and Mick Flahive with the thirds.

The club has some challenges ahead, but ones that it can win if everyone pulls in the right direction together.

I wish everyone all the best in 2012.
