Rovers aim for third win away at Ivanhoe

Hampton Rovers take on Ivanhoe Amateur Football Club this Saturday at Ivanhoe Park in round three of the 2018 VAFA season.

The Rovers currently sit second on the ladder following wins against Kew and Prahran in the opening two rounds. Ivanhoe are without a win and will be looking to bounce back on their home deck.

Two changes to the Rovers side following a big Thursday night on the track with two stars returning to the line-up.

The Reserves will also be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season. They commence at 11:40am with the Seniors at 2pm. There is a lunch happening with a table booked for the Rovers. After having 11 at Prahran last week, another strong travelling crew is on the cards – speak to Nashy or Dean to reserve your spot.

It’ll be the first time the Rovers have taken on Ivanhoe AFC in many years, with the club more familiar with nearby Old Ivanhoe. Ivanhoe Park is located just around the corner from Chelsworth Park, on Lower Heidelberg Road – view match details & map.

The Thirds will be looking to return to the winners list when they face University High School/Vic Uni at Boss James Reserve starting at 11:40am. Huge numbers at the club with a few players set to miss out on a game, despite having eight on the bench. We are on the hunt for a few helpers including a central field umpire for the game – please contact coach Andrew McGregor on 0404 094 367.

This will be followed by the Under 19s at 2pm who face Mazenod. The boys will be looking to make it two wins in a row and have another strong team in with Folino, Ebbott, Kneebush and Audige in the middle.

The Senior Women’s side travel to Camberwell Sports Ground to take on new team Old Scotch, commencing at 2:00pm.

All Rovers supporters are encouraged to get along to the various grounds and support the Rovers on the weekend!

You can get live scores of the seniors game and other VAFA matches via the Rovers website and follow updates on Twitter (@HRAFC).

Next week, the Rovers face West Brunswick at Boss James Reserve in the annual ANZAC Day fixture. Book now for the ANZAC Luncheon.
