Boss James to host VAFA U19 Grand Final

Hampton’s Boss James Reserve will host the VAFA Under 19 South (1) Grand Final between Old Brighton and Caulfield Grammarians this Saturday at 2pm.

The season decider was original scheduled for Trevor Barker Oval on Sunday at 9:15am, but was relocated to the home of the Hampton Rovers due to the poor condition of the Sandringham ground and the fact it already has four games scheduled over the weekend. The game has also been brought back to the traditional timeslot of Saturday 2pm.

Brighton and Caulfield were the two stand-out teams in 2010 and it’s fitting they play-off for the flag. The Tonners finished as minor-premiers with 16 wins with Caulfield second on 15 wins. Ajax and St Kevins made up the top four each on 11 wins.

Unlike Trevor Barker Oval, Boss James Reserve isn’t fenced off therefore it’s free entry for everyone on Saturday. Everyone is invited into the social rooms following the big game where the Rovers Bar will be open. The canteen will also be open during the game. The game will get underway at 2:00pm following the National Anthem.

Please note parking is restricted on the hill at the Thorburn Street end due to the recent wet weather – an area of the hill has been blocked off to prevent more cars getting bogged! There’s plenty of other parking available in the two car parks and surrounding streets.
