Saturday’s 2nd Semi Final between minor premiers Hampton Rovers and Ormond has been confirmed for VAFA HQ – the newly renovated Elsternwick Park.
It’s a huge game for the club with the winner to earn promotion back to the Premier sections of the VAFA and go straight through to the 2018 Grand Final in two weeks time. The loser will play the winner of 3rd & 4th next week in the Preliminary Final – in the Seniors that’s either Oakleigh or Therry Penola.
The home of the VAFA looks better than ever following its resurfacing earlier this year and the recent opening of the new administration building. It’s believed the league wanted to play the game at Sandringham’s Trevor Barker Oval, however it was unavailable due to a TAC Cup match on Saturday.
The Reserves will commence at 12pm and the Seniors at 2:20pm. It’s obviously a huge day for the club against our arch rivals and all supporters are encouraged to get along in green & gold and cheer on the boys in both games. You can purchase Rovers Merchandise at the Rovers Online Shop and collect it from the club Thursday evening.
The VAFA has announced entry to the ground will be $10 for adults, $5 for concession & children under 12 free. Car parking inside the ground available for $5. There is also additional parking available on Elsternwick Park Oval 2 (entry via the St Kilda Street Car Park) also for $5. The VAFA welcomes both clubs and their supporters to the official after-match upstairs in the new function room to cap off what should be two great contests. Please note: Strictly no dogs allowed inside finals venues.
Click through below to the Semi Final event on Facebook and confirm your attendance and invite/share to spread the word and get a big crowd along.
The club invites all parents and supporters to the club this Thursday for selection night. Bar open from 6pm, watch the boys train and hear the teams. Dinner available from 7:30pm for a cold coin donation.
Get amongst the finals and Go Rovers!
