Carnovale to represent the Big V against WAAFL

The VAFA B-Div 4 Representative Team take on the Western Australian Amateur Football League (WAAFL) in the AAFC Championship Match at Trevor Barker Oval at 2pm on Saturday.

Hampton Rovers captain Christian Carnovale has been named in the team which features 22 players from 21 clubs across five senior sections. Carny has represented the VAFA on two occasions at U19 level including 2016 as captain and will be looking forward to making his open-age debut. Carny is expected to start on the ball where he has dominated for the Rovers this season.

The Big V will be coached by former Hampton Rovers Premership coach Russell Barnes. The VAFA will be looking to make it four wins from four with the two remaining games this weekend. Earlier this year, the senior and women’s teams won their matches. As well as the B-Div 4 game on Saturday, the U19 side faces Vic Country at MARS Stadium on Sunday.

Get along to Sandringham to show your support for Carny and the Big V. You can also stream the game live below, thanks to vafa.com.au.

The VAFA has played the WAAFL 27 times since their first meeting in 1936. Learn more about the history here.
