Retired Hawthorn champion Shane Crawford could line up for rival B Section club Old Camberwell in 2009. The rumour was floated in Craig Hutchinsons column in Sundays Herald Sun.
Crawfords ex-teammate David Loats has been appointed playing coach at Old Camberwell after playing at the club for the last four years. As a result of the appointment, the club is set to sign Crawfords best mate Ben Dixon to play, and Shane could be next.
He would join a host of ex-AFL players at the club, including Rayden Tallis, Rory Hilton, Kent Kingsley and another newcomer Tim Hazell.
They aren?t the only VAFA B Section club with ex-AFL experience. Brett Voss, Stewart Loewe and Brett O’Farrell played games with Old Haileybury in 2008 and theres a rumour doing the rounds that Robert Harvey may pull on the boots for the Bloods in 2009.
The Hampton Rovers continue their build up to the 2009 VAFA season in B section with a strong pre-season campaign. New players are welcome – click here for details.
