Hampton Rovers players Leigh Fletcher and Ryan Semmel have been selected for the VAFA C-D4 Representative team to take on the VCFL at Elsternwick Park on Saturday.
The respective bodies commenced playing representative football in 1984 and a wonderful rivalry has developed, today however is the first time a game will be played between the 2 bodies at this level where representatives from the VAFAs C to D4 section clubs take on representatives from the VCFLs district league clubs.
When the VAFA last met the VCFL last year, it was the VCFL winning by a single point, 11.11.77 to 11.10 70 at Ballarats Eastern Oval.
Both Leigh and Ryan have had a great start to 2008 season with the undefeated Rovers and fully deserve their start in the side on Saturday. Fletcher will start the game in the centre while Semmel with start in the forward pocket.
The game commences at 1:00am at Elsternwick Park (Glenhuntly Road, Elsternwick).
