VAFA

Phil Stevens moves on from VAFA

Phil Stevens has advised the VAFA Executive that, after 16 years as the VAFA Chief Executive Officer, he has decided to accept an opportunity offered to him to become the CEO of a newly formed company called Venue Ratings Agency. VRA has been established to provide independent ratings and risk assessment analysis for sporting venues, facilities and businesses.

Prior to being employed by the VAFA, Phil enjoyed a 17 year teaching career, and played AFL/VFL football for Geelong and St. Kilda. He coached Sandringham in the VFA, and was the coach of Old Haileybury in the VAFA when he accepted the position of General Manager (as it was then known) in the VAFA upon the departure of Peter French.

The VAFA Executive has, with much regret, accepted Phil’s resignation. Phil has agreed to continue as CEO of the VAFA until the end of the 2004 season, and will take up his new position in early October 2004. The VAFA thanks Phil for his many years of dedication to the VAFA, and wishes him every success in his new position.

Applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer of the VAFA will be sought in the next fortnight.
