ANZAC Luncheon + Wylie Austin Tribute

It’s a special Home Game Luncheon this Saturday at Boss James Reserve as we commemorate ANZAC Day and honour Wylie Austin’s contribution to the Rovers, who passed away late last year.

The Seniors host Old Trinity in round three of the VAFA Premier B season at 2pm, which will be preceded by the traditional on-ground ANZAC ceremony, thanks to the Hampton RSL.

The second Home Game Luncheon of the season will commence at midday (12:30pm sit-down) inside the new Wright-Scarlett Pavilion, with the bar to remain open throughout the day (drinking permitted inside only).

At Saturday’s function, we will commemorate the life of Hampton Rovers Life Member and Hall of Famer Wylie Austin, who passed away in October last year. Wylie has been described as the “heart and soul” of the club from when he started as a player in 1979 – he was senior captain from 1982-87, committee member 1988-92, awarded best clubman, vice president and performed many jobs around the club – read more here.

Wylie’s family will be in attendance on Saturday and we welcome as many of his team mates, officials and supporters from his era to be there as we honour this great Rover.

The cost is just $40 for non-members, or purchase a 2025 Club Membership here which includes entry to match day functions. Book your seat now!

It’s a triple-header of action at Boss James Reserve, starting with the Under 19’s at 9:20am against St Bedes/Mentone, followed by the Reserves and Seniors v Old Trinity. While at Castlefield Reserve, the Senior Women host Oakleigh at 10am and the Thirds have unfortunately had to forfeit their match against Old Scotch. Full schedule below..
