Under 19s Meeting

Hampton Rovers fielded two Under 19 teams in 2017 for the first time in a long time and the club is currently determining if it’ll field two again this year or revert to a single team.

An important meeting will be held on Wednesday evening (Feb 28) following training, at 7pm. All players interested in playing under 19 football at the Hampton Rovers in 2018 need to make an effort to get along, or let someone know if they can’t attend. It’s expected the club will make a call at or following the meeting if there will be one or two teams.

Lou Folino takes over John Cesario as coach of the Under 19 firsts in 2018 after a few years as senior assistant coach while Sam Care continues as coach of the seconds.

At this stage, there are around 35-40 players committed to playing however at least 50 will be required to comfortably fill two teams throughout the year – that number does not include those who’ll play regular senior football at the club.

The club also plans on fielding a Thirds team in 2018 and if two U19 teams don’t get up, then an option could be to play thirds footy, however that will be discussed at the meeting.

We look forward to seeing all players in attendance.
