Under 19

U19s host Old Camberwell

The Under 19s are the only Rovers side in action this weekend and they host Old Camberwell at Boss James Reserve on Saturday at 2pm.

John Cesario’s side defeated Ormond by 51 points last Saturday in a replay of the 2014 Grand Final and will be looking to make it four-straight wins against the ‘Wellers on Saturday.

The boys have had a relatively good season after going up a division after claiming the premiership last year. They sat top of the ladder after three rounds but have dropped to fifth after some disappointing results. Injuries and unavailability’s have cost the side on a few occasions, but the team is returning to its strongest and the boys are looking to finish the season strongly.

The U19s have defeated the top two teams in Old Geelong and Old Carey with Williamstown the only top-four side they haven’t claimed the four points against. Old Camberwell are currently sixth with four wins less than the Rovers.

With the Seniors, Reserves and Thirds all having two weeks off, we encourage all Rovers supporters to get along to the Boss on Saturday to cheer on the young Rovers. Kick-off is 2pm and the bar will be open following the game. The U19s get a week off next week before facing bottom side St Bernards.
