The VAFA has released the U19 fixture with the boys taking on Melbourne High away in round one this Saturday. Meanwhile the U17s have merged with the U19s to create one team with good depth for 2014.
Following the away trip in round one, the U19s return to Boss James Reserve for two consecutive home games against Peninsula and Beaumaris. That second home game will form the start of a huge triple-header in which the Seniors take on Ormond in the Grand Final replay.
The 2014 season sees games against local sides Beaumaris, Oakleigh, Ormond and Old Haileybury. The majority of games will commence at 2pm (9), while three games will start at 11:40am and six at 9:20am.
There will be three triple-headers at Boss James Reserve (rounds 3, 8 & 16) in which the U19s will get the action underway at 9:20am. This is a great opportunity to stick around and support the Reserves and Seniors.
Update: Richmond Central has withdrawn from the division so there will now be two bye’s during the season (round 4 & 18).

The club has decided to merge the U17s with the U19s as has been done in the past. Private school football continues to cause a lack of depth consistently throughout the season so this is the best way to ensure there is one team with solid depth for all games and will give the players the best chance of success while also giving the U17 players. As previously announced, player subscriptions for this team are free in 2014 and we encourage players to get on board. Please get in touch with coach John Cesario on 0412 490 925 or come along to training.
Meanwhile, the U16s has merged with East Sandringham JFC which is a positive move for the club. The SMJFL will announce fixtures during this week with the season kicking-off on Sunday.
The Hampton Rovers Thirds fixture will be announced by the VAFA early this week. The team is expected to play away in round one this Saturday.
