U19 Triple-Premiership players revisit the Rovers

At Saturday’s luncheon prior to the Old Trinity game, the club was fortunate enough to have several players in attendance from the 1946, 1947 & 1948 Under 19 Triple Premiership side.

Those who came along were Geoff Jones, Bob Simpson, Col Adamson, Kelvin Porter, Charlie Warner, Dave Kinsey, Keith Ezard, Ken Bogie, Jack Cooper and Rob Dunn. A few others including Roy Harper would have liked to be in attendance but were unable to make it on the day. For most, it was the first time in several years that they had visited the club and all were impressed with the good shape the club is currently in.

Geoff Jones and Col Adamson got up and reflected on their time at the Rovers and the three premierships in a row. The Hampton Scouts as they were known as back then, defeated Ivanhoe on all three occasions. 1946: 16.14.110 – 8.7.55, 1947: 29.25.199 – 6.10.46, 1948: 17.13.115 – 14.9.93. Several players went on to play in the 1951 Hampton Rovers Senior ?A? Grade Premiership.

The club thanks everyone for their involvement on Saturday and welcomes all past players to visit the club at any time.
