The introduction of a fourth Hampton Rovers team in the VAFA in 2009 is now confirmed with strong interest meaning the club will field a Thirds team in the Club XVIII competition.
There has been plenty of interest since the Rovers announced a Third Senior XVIII team playing in the VAFA Club XVIII competition. A meeting was held Tuesday evening at the club with a healthy turn-up.
The club will shortly announce a coach for the new team in 2009 and further information relating to training details etc.
The VAFA Club XVIII (South) competition comprises of 15 rounds plus finals and includes the likes of Beaumaris, Ormond, St Bedes Mentone and Oakleigh. The new team is intended for players of all ages and abilities, former Rovers players looking to come back and have a kick and players who don?t think they?re up to the standard of VAFA B Grade.
