One of Hampton Rovers’ most cherished traditions will celebrate a major milestone this year, with the Domino Luncheon returning for its 30th anniversary on Friday 21 August at Boss James Reserve. Tickets are now on sale.
The popular event, which has become one of the highlights of the club’s social calendar, will feature special guest speaker Dermott Brereton, one of the most recognisable figures in Australian football.
A five-time Hawthorn premiership player, Brereton is renowned as one of the toughest and most charismatic personalities of his era. Following his decorated playing career, he has enjoyed a long and successful career in the media, becoming a familiar face and voice across television, radio and print.
The Domino Luncheon returned last year following the redevelopment of the Wright-Scarlett Pavilion, and demand remains as strong as ever. Supporters are encouraged to book early, with previous events proving extremely popular.
The cost is $90 per person, which includes a superb three-course meal, with drinks available at bar prices throughout the afternoon.
This year’s luncheon marks 30 years of the event, which has welcomed an extraordinary list of guest speakers over the years. Past guests have included Mal Brown, John Burns, Rod Butterss, Clinton Casey, Terry Daniher, John Fitzgerald, Damien Fleming, Jeff Gieschen, Russell Greene, David Rhys-Jones, Allan Jeans, Sam Kekovich, Brian Martin, Barry Michael, Tony Morwood, Matthew Richardson, Don Scott, Mike Sheahan, Kevin Sheedy, Ben Dixon and Tony Jones.
The Domino Luncheon has become much more than a fundraising event. It is a celebration of the Hampton Rovers community, bringing together past and present players, officials, supporters and friends of the club for an afternoon of great food, entertainment and storytelling.
Tickets are now on sale and are expected to sell quickly.

Purchase tickets online through the Rovers Shop or RSVP directly to Steve Johnston (0414 399 788). Bookings close on Thursday 13 August 2026, or earlier if sold out.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of a special afternoon as the Hampton Rovers celebrate 30 years of one of the club’s great traditions.
