This Saturday promises to be another special day at Boss James Reserve as the Hampton Rovers return from the King’s Birthday bye weekend to host Parkdale Vultures in Round 8 of the VAFA Premier C season. Book now for the Home Game Luncheon.
Off the field, the focus will be on the club’s famous Home Game Luncheon, while also helping raise awareness for FightMND and supporting the important work being done to find effective treatments and ultimately a cure for motor neurone disease.
The function will commence from 12pm for a 12:30pm sit-down inside the Wright-Scarlett Pavilion, with all members, supporters, past players and visitors warmly invited to attend.
As part of the day’s FightMND activities, FightMND CFO Geoff McQueen will address guests and provide an insight into the remarkable impact of the charity founded by Neale Daniher AO and his family. The Hampton Rovers senior men will also take to the field wearing FightMND socks, while supporters who are yet to purchase a 2026 Big Freeze beanie will be able to do so at the club.
On the field, the seniors will be looking to continue their outstanding start to the season when they take on Parkdale Vultures from 2pm in a big top-four clash. The Rovers enter the clash sitting second on the Premier C ladder with a 6-1 record, while Parkdale occupy fourth position at 5-2, making it one of the biggest matches of the season to date. It’s a triple-header on Saturday, with the Reserves getting underway at 11:40am, and the U19s following the Seniors at 4:45pm.
The luncheon will also recognise this week’s Match Day Sponsor, Sliding Doors Foundation. The foundation provides life-changing scholarships for young people experiencing economic and social barriers, helping to unlock their potential and create pathways to a successful future. Through its work, Sliding Doors Foundation has enabled young people who may never otherwise have had the opportunity to attend schools such as Brighton Grammar School, helping to transform lives through the power of education. Guests are encouraged to learn more about the organisation and its important mission throughout the day. Find out more here.
As always, Hampton Rovers’ renowned caterers will provide another outstanding meal, with the cost remaining just $40 per person (or included in your 2026 Club Membership). The bar will open from 12 midday, with formalities commencing at 12:30pm ahead of the senior men’s match.
Whether you’re there to support the Rovers, hear more about the incredible work of FightMND and Sliding Doors Foundation, or simply enjoy one of the VAFA’s great match day experiences, Saturday’s Home Game Luncheon promises to be another memorable occasion at Boss James Reserve.
Bookings can be made via the Hampton Rovers website, with everyone encouraged to secure their place early. Payment can be made on the day or online. Click here to book your spot now.
