Preparations for season 2022 are well underway, the players are training hard and as usual we will enter the season with optimism, energy and commitment.
Numbers have been excellent across both the men’s and women’s senior squads, with an influx of new U19s and nearly a dozen new senior faces. We held a successful pre-season camp at Torquay where the players bonded and worked on strength and conditioning along with strategy.
The first practice game is scheduled for March 19 with details TBC, followed by Parkdale Vultures at Parkdale on March 26. We look forward to the return of footy and our first home game on April 2 against Marcellin.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish Bianca Lenarcic all the very best for the next chapter in her life as she leaves us soon to take up an appointment at the Gold Coast Suns.
Bianca has been our Senior Women’s captain and a dominant player on the field and a great contributor off field.
Bianca will be responsible for Player Excellence, Education and Wellbeing for the Suns AFLW program.
The coaching panel for our five senior teams this season is as follows:

- Fitness Staff: Alister Harley, Nathan Bonney
If anyone is looking for a part time job through the season, we need some more Sports Trainers. We will provide the Level 1 training course free of charge and it is a paid position for your match day or training night commitment. Please get in touch with me if you’re interested, or if you know someone who may be.
Mouth Guards: Club sponsor, Your Dentistry, will be running a mouthguard fitting day at Boss James Reserve where players can get a new one at a discounted rate. We’ll communicate the details through the usual channels once confirmed.
Volunteers: We need you in 2022… you can assist the club in any way… match day, Thursday nights… if you can spare a few hours every now and again, it would be greatly appreciated.
Club Membership: After hitting a record of 157 members last year, we’d love to see everyone jump on board again this year and show their support for the mighty Rovers.
