Club

From the President – July 22

The Hampton Rovers community has shown amazing resilience over the past 16 months, having to bounce back time and time again from lockdowns, restrictions, and general bad news.

What we have achieved has been inspiring, great spirit and commitment and a wonderful camaraderie.

Well it’s not over … we have 3 of our senior teams assured of playing finals and with a strong surge for the remaining games who knows, we may have all 5!

Train hard and play well but also, I want to see you all enjoy yourself off the field at the club.

Unfortunately, this weekend’s round of football has been cancelled, meaning we lose our biggest home game of the year (against Ormond), while the planned 1995 and 2001 premiership reunions have been postponed – but we plan to reschedule these for later in the season, with more information to follow once the lockdown ends.

For those who attended our last function, the $2k day, what a great time was had by all and what a terrific result it turned out to be for the club. The support was outstanding and will help the club in what has been a couple of tough years on the financial front.

And the support continues on the Club Membership front. We’ve blown our membership record well and truly out of the water, with our tally now at 157. The members keep rolling in, and it’s never too late to sign up and help the club out. View the full list and join here.

A big thank you also to the Ausfine team, who’ve just increased their sponsorship of the club. To Chris Scarlett and Steve Helliger, thanks for your ongoing support! You can see all our club sponsors here.

Whatever we have left for the remainder of the year both on and off the field, lets go hard, enjoy ourselves, win some finals, pick up some flags and celebrate.

Please take care everyone, and I look forward to seeing you back at the Boss soon.

Go Rovers!
