Covid-19 Update – May 27

Due to Melbourne’s snap 7-day lockdown, this weekend’s VAFA matches have been cancelled.

The seniors were due to host Marcellin at Boss James Reserve on Saturday. In accordance with VAFA’s Conditions of Play in a Covid-19 Environment Policy, round 8 will not be played, with matches deemed incomplete and ladders reverting to a match ratio calculation for the remainder of the season. At this stage, the VAFA is planning for Round 9 (June 5) as usual – the Rovers are scheduled to take on Old Geelong at Como Park.

Thursday’s official training for all senior teams has been cancelled and the club will now be closed tonight. The club won’t have access to our facilities until the lockdown ends.

Read the VAFA Statement here and keep an eye on the VAFA website for further updates.
