It’s a big day for the club on Saturday with four home games, a Luncheon to kick-off the 90th year celebrations, and of course our major function that evening.
The Seniors and Reserve take on Old Ivanhoe in round 10 of the VAFA and will be looking to rebound from last week’s defeats at Williamstown.
The Home Game Luncheon commences at 12:30pm with the bar open from 12 midday at Boss James Reserve, and we welcome everyone to make an effort to get along, especially those who were unable to secure tickets to Saturday night’s major function. Brownlow Medallist Ross Smith will also be in attendance at the lunch and we’ll start the 90th year celebrations early. Just $30 per head – book online now or get in touch with Gary Nash.
The Seniors played Old Ivanhoe just three rounds ago and it was undoubtably the worst performance of the year for the Rovers – they’ll be looking to make amends this time at home. The Reserves knocked over the Hoers for their first defeat of the season and will be keen to make it two from two. They kick-off at 11:40am followed by the Seniors at 2:00pm.
There’re also two home games at Castlefield Reserve, with the Senior Women up against Prahran Assumption at 10:30am followed by high-flying Under 19s at 2:00pm v Marcellin.
The Rovers Thirds take on Glen Eira at Packer Park starting at 2:00pm. Numbers are a bit light on this week so if you can play, please get in touch with David Anderson or Andrew McGregor. View all fixtures.
Match awards will be done earlier than normal after the game on Saturday and the bar will close before 6pm, with the sold-out Hampton Rovers 90th Year Celebration major function getting underway at 7pm at the Brighton Town Hall. It promises to be a sensation evening with over 200 people in attendance, special guest speakers and live music – read more about the event here.
