Women’s team on hunt for recruits

The Hampton Rovers Senior Women’s Team enters its third season in 2019 and while numbers are looking good, the club is keen to recruit another 5-10 players to bolster the squad.

With the VAFA changing the structure of its women’s competition, the Rovers will be in the more suitable division 3 for the 2019 season, keen to get more wins on the board.

Training has been progressing well under second-year coach of the side, Paul Curry, and the girls are working towards their first practice game on Sunday 24 March against Oakleigh at Keysborough.

The 2019 VAFA season commences on Saturday 6 April and the Rovers Women’s team will play most matches at our Castlefield Reserve facility where a brand new pavilion was recently opened, providing female-friendly facilities for players. The season fixture will be announced soon.

Training is currently Monday and Wednesday but will shortly move to Monday’s and Thursday’s.

We invite players of all abilities – new or experienced players – to join the team which already consists of around 20 players.
