The Hampton Rovers Football Club would like to thank everyone who supported the club in such large numbers at Saturday’s Grand Final and throughout the 2018 season.
To have the majority of the support in the 2500-strong crowd at Trevor Barker Oval in the season decider is testament to the great support we have, and the strong passion shown by so many. It was especially great to see so many past players and officials, parents and families of players, junior players and parents, life members, club members and sponsors.
The strong support shown got the Rovers back into the game in the final quarter and the noise was incredible. Unfortunately for us, Ormond took control very late in the game, kicking the last three goals to win by six points in an absolute thriller. Still, it’s great to see two district clubs going well and the big rivalry will continue next year, with both clubs promoted to Premier C for the 2019 season.
Next up, it’s Presentation Night, on AFL Grand Final Holiday eve (Thursday 27th September) at the Brighton International. The club thanks those who supported the club financially in 2018 by becoming a club member and we encourage everyone to become a club member in 2019. These will be available in the near future on the Rovers Online Shop. We look forward to another year of strong support, whether that be club membership or sponsorship, home game luncheon’s and events, and volunteering around the club.
