The VAFA has released the 2018 Women’s Premier B (White) Fixture with the Hampton Rovers to take on Old Haileybury in Round 1 at Trevor Barker Oval.

The season opener, on Saturday April 7 at 11:45am, will be played prior to the VFL match between Sandringham Zebras and Footscray Bulldogs.

The Rovers will then face Ajax the following Saturday at Castlefield Reserve. A further five games of the 14-round season will be played at home.

The majority of home matches have been scheduled at the Rovers second home ground, Castlefield Reserve, with three matches scheduled for Boss James Reserve including a big Friday night fixture against local rivals Beaumaris on May 11.

VAFA Women’s Premier B (White) Section includes Ajax, Beaumaris, Old Brighton, Old Carey, Old Haileybury, Old Mentone and the newly formed Old Scotch.

While the Rovers had hoped of fielding two Women’s teams in 2018, in the end the additional player numbers required didn’t eventuate and the club has settled for one team again this year. The girls have trained well under new coach Paul Curry, assisted by Shem Curry, and are looking ahead to a big season.
