Well done to all our junior teams in the Lightning Premiership’s over the past two weeks. The opposition teams may have been thankful there was no scoring! The future looks promising for our younger age groups. We have already registered enough players for one team in Under 8 for next year with big numbers coming through from Auskick. There is a potential coaching panel forming for this group also. Well done!
Our Under 11 Div. 6 side fought really hard during the year and we hope to see all these players back next year. The Under 13 Div. 3 side left their run a little late. With a win over the 4th side a couple of weeks ago and losing by a small margin to the second side two weeks ago it is clear they were good enough to be in the finals but were too inconsistent during the year. Big things ahead for next year. The mail is a junior coaching legend is soon to return. The Under 14 Div. 3 side battled away during the year. With a couple of sides in the comp that maybe should have been in Div. 2 it was a hard year to get wins on the board. A good group of kids that if they stick together should be better for the run and go well next year.
A big thank you to all coaches, team managers, runners, trainers, umpires, water boys and girls, umpire escorts and most importantly the Mums for assisting during the year.
This will be my final year as President. Thank you to all the current Committee for making the task of running the junior club so enjoyable.  We have a great group of parents and players. The Committee for next year is taking shape and will hit the ground running for next year. The planning is already taking place. There are some exciting times ahead with the inclusion of girls’ teams at Rovers. Don’t forget the PRESENTATION DAY ON THE 28th OF AUGUST. See you all over the finals and next year.
