The Under 8’s played East Brighton and the ball spent most of the time in our forward line. Jody Cripps had a great game. He brought his teammates into the game and clearly loves his footy. Patrick Wilson started n the centre and came off due to an injury, he came back on and laid two great tackles and kicked two late goals. Oliver Ries and Sebastien Gelso were given strict instructions to prevent the opposition tall forwards from getting near the ball and they completed their job brilliantly .
Under 9 Blue were close to taking the points in a “scrappy” encounter. Mitch Graham scored his first goal in his short career. Will Strickland was unpassable at Full back. Oliver Elliot was dangerous all over the ground and was unlucky not to score 2 goals. Freddie Stafford continued to rack up a commanding goal tally. His efforts late in the game were fantastic.
Under 10 Blue – coached by Dave Burton are having a loads of fun this season. Harry Lewis was best on ground . Zain Sarant kicked his first goal on Sunday. Joe Ramsden has been a fantastic first year player and Jonty McKimm is the big improver for 2016.
Our Under 11 Div 1 boys kicked 7.1 – 43 to defeat Brighton Beach 2.5 – 17. Oliver Stafford kicked two goals, showed plenty of speed and finished like a surgeon. Ted McKimm rucked well and adds class around the pack. Josh Docking was forward, back, mid, didn’t matter, there was no equal and Dylan Van Der Haar (Just like hi famous Uncle ) delivered 2 goals when it mattered the most – Special comments – Caggs. Our Under 11 Div 6 boys played East Sandringham and the wet conditions didn’t suit their silky skills . ES 6.15 – 51 def. HR 2.4 – 16.
Under 12 Div 2 had a bye this week. Enjoy the two weeks off. Look out east Malvern on the 19th of June.
Under 12 Div 5 had a good win over Ajax. HR 10.12 – 72 def. Ajax 1.2 – 8 . Benjo Wells was BOG. Noah Hunt kicked 3 brilliant goals . James Hare was ferocious in the ruck and Chritian Paice for his size is arguably the toughest tackler in the side.
Under 13 Div 3 – The boys fought back really well after being 4 goals down before ¾ time. They kicked 3 goals in 2 minutes and nearly stole the game. Great effort but fell short by 5 points. Oscar Brown worked hard all day and was able to burst clear when nobody else could. Daniel Osborn was crucial in defence in the last quarter. Charlie Wilson battled away against one of the comps best ruckman. Sam Flockart tagged their best player and did a great job.
Under 14 Div 3 – Playing on a mud pie it was hard to find space and run . Highett –12.11 – 83 def. HR 4.1. Good luck to George, Rob and Onnie on the slopes of Mt.Bulla over the winter. Good luck to Lachie Carney on his overseas musical tour. Enjoy.
