I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching the U14 Division 4 team this year and would like to thank each and every boy for his wholehearted approach to the season. We began the season with a squad of 27 boys and right from the first pre-season session, training was embraced enthusiastically.
Although finals action is always something to strive for, the focus of assistant coach Rory Lynch and myself was to try and develop a hard running style of play and give the boys opportunities to play in a variety of positions which would stand them in good stead for the years ahead while keeping the emphasis on doing your best and having some fun.
I was wrapped with the way the boys embraced playing in the different positions and in the way they bonded together as a group and enjoyed one and others moments of success. We didnt make the finals but we managed to win 5 games along the way and be very competitive in a few more.
To the Players
It was a pleasure coaching all of you this year. This group of boys is a credit to the club in the positive manner in which they went about their football, win or loose. Rory and I wish you all the best for your football future wherever that is but we would love to see all of you back at the Rovers for U15s and beyond!
To the Parents
We have a wonderful parent group supporting this team behind the scenes by fulfilling the various duties required on game day. The support and encouragement of the boys during matches has been fantastic and always in the spirit of the game. Well done!
To the coaching and support staff

Thanks to Paul Bowden and Ralph Bergman for an outstanding job managing the rotations during games all year. Not easy with such a large group but you did it brilliantly
Thanks to Gabe DiMartino, our runner all year, plenty of messages and instructions every game ensured a marathon each Sunday!
Finally, we were extremely fortunate to have an outstanding Team manager in Marina Stevenson this year. Sincere thanks Marina for an exceptional job organizing the team, duty roster, administration and everything else. There is such a lot to manage behind the scenes and coaching would have been impossible without your work.
