Beneath the Numbers
- As indicated by the statistical data, the U10 Blue was a very competitive team during the 2013 season. We won 9 of our 13 games, which included a wonderful run of 8 consecutive wins to start the season. Our team developed significantly throughout the 2013 season. The skills of our boys improved with the result that our side was able to produce team-orientated football and develop flow in our play.
- Our boys were involved in 5 games decided by less than a goal. Happily we can report when the going got tough, the tough got going and we won 4 of these tight matches!
- Sixteen of our boys kicked a goal during the season which was indicative of the spread of input and contribution from our squad.
- Our Coaching Group again enjoyed a wonderful year of great support from our parent group who were terrific in their unwavering encouragement of our players both individually and collectively.
- The U10 Blue was a fine group of boys and our training numbers remained high right through-out the season which indicated that a strong team spirit existed.
- Our Team Manager, David Lever did an awesome job informing all and marshaling our troops off-field. Sam Travers was our hard-working Assistant Coach and Director of Football. Craig Randall was our specialist Coach. Sally Stewart was our regular Trainer. This group made a fantastic contribution to the smooth running of our team over the season.
- The move to U11s in 2014 will see our squad leave behind the modified rules of U9s and U10s with tackling being introduced. We believe this squad has significant talent and we look forward to the continuation on the path of improvement and enjoyment with the Hampton Rovers.
