MFC host Junior Training

On Monday 12th August Hampton Rovers Juniors had a training session hosted by players from Melbourne Football Club. There was a terrific turnout, well in excess of 125 children. All loved being coached by some AFL champs. A special thanks to the boy’s from Melbourne. Being:
# 6 Chris Dawes
#28 Joel MacDonald
#36 Aaron Davey
#39 Neville Jetta

Glenn Balmforth – MFC Community Coordinator

The players conducted a one hour training session, ably assisted by some dedicated Hampton Rovers Coaches. Then all moved into The Clubrooms, for pies and question time. Chris Dawes received a very rousing response with his answer to the question "which junior Club did you play for". The Rovers!!!
Thanks to Hampton Rovers Life Member, Bill ‘Choc’ Mirabito, all in attendance gauged themselves on delicious pies, sausage rolls and pasties. The food was kindly donated by Choc through his business Mighty Good Catering.
Thanks also to the many helpers!!! Including;
• The Coaches, Darren Forbes, Stephen Tarranto, Steve Wigley, Steve Marshall, Ross Mcasey, David Levers, Sam Travers.
• Thanks to the Marron Family for providing the handball target,
• Steve Rose for organising the players, training structure, coaches and being the interviewer,
• Ant White and Patrick Scaramozzino for cooking from Midday and
• all those who helped heat and serve including Julie Carrigan, Katie Flockart, Mel Carney, Kirsty Reynolds, Bec Wilson and Belinda Bacon.
We hope to have more of these training sessions in 2014.
