2009 was always going to be a tough season for us. After a great 2008 we were promoted from South to West. This proved to be a big step up which combined with the loss of a number of key position players made being competitive very difficult.
At the start of the season we only had 17 players but we were lucky to have a number of new players join us so we could field a team.
Four of our players had never played football before but were happy to get out there and give it a go. It was extremely rewarding to watch their progress as they skilled up and learned to play the game.
We only won two games in the season but came within a kick on a number of occasions. When the boys put it all together we could compete with all but the best couple of teams. Despite losing the majority of games the team spirit never faltered. The boys supported their team mates and never gave up trying..

As always there are as just as many people behind a successful season as there are players who run out on the paddock. The support and encouragement from the officials and parents has been fantastic all year. Thank you all.
