It’s another important weekend of footy for the Hampton Rovers, with the senior men travelling to Packer Park on Saturday to take on Glen Eira/Old McKinnon in Round 7, while the Senior Women are away to Beaumaris.
The Rovers enter the VAFA Premier C match in strong form, having won five of their opening six games to sit third on the ladder. Last week’s 31-point victory over Marcellin continued the club’s positive start to the year and kept Hampton firmly in touch with the leading teams in the competition.
Saturday’s opponent, Glen Eira/Old McKinnon, currently sits sixth with a 2-4 record but has proven capable of matching it with the competition’s best on its day. The day’s schedule is an unusual one due to a scheduling issue at the ground, with the Seniors first up at 1:30pm, followed by the Reserves match at 4:00pm to be played under lights.
The clash is an important one for the Rovers as they look to maintain contact with ladder leaders Fitzroy, and with the top four beginning to establish a break on the rest of the competition, every result is becoming increasingly significant.

Elsewhere, the Senior Women travel to William Street Reserve in Brighton to take on Beaumaris at 12:00pm, while the Under 19s head to Mentone Reserve for a 9:20am clash against St Bedes/Mentone Tigers.
The Thirds are the only Hampton Rovers side at home this weekend, hosting Parkdale Vultures at Boss James Reserve from 12:00pm.
Supporters are encouraged to get along and support the green and gold as the Rovers look to continue their strong start to the 2026 season across all grades.
