The VAFA has released the 2026 Premier C Men’s fixture, locking in an 18-round home and away season as the Hampton Rovers return to Premier C determined to bounce back under new senior coach Paul Carrigan.
The Rovers will open their campaign on Saturday April 18 with a Round 1 away trip to Harry MacDonald Oval to face 2025 Division 1 premiers Old Peninsula. It shapes as a fascinating opening match-up, with Old Peninsula stepping up from Division 1 and the Rovers returning from Premier B, setting the tone for the new season.
The Rovers then return to Boss James Reserve for three consecutive home games in Rounds 2 to 4. Round 2 sees traditional rivals Ormond visit on Saturday April 25, with the ANZAC Day clash to feature a special on-ground ceremony.
The Rovers will then host Fitzroy, also down from Premier B, in Round 3, before taking on PEGS in Round 4, giving the club a strong early opportunity to build momentum in front of its home supporters.
Other key rivalries are spread throughout the fixture. The Rovers face Glen Eira/Old McKinnon away at Packer Park in Round 7 before hosting them in Round 16, while match-ups against St Bede’s/Mentone Tigers come in Round 10 at Boss James Reserve and Round 17 at Mentone Reserve.
The always-competitive contests with Parkdale Vultures are scheduled for Round 8 at home and the final match of the regular season, Round 18, at Gerry Green Reserve.
Hampton Rovers Home Game Luncheons will again feature at all nine home games at Boss James Reserve in 2026. Details and bookings for the opening function of the season in round two will be available soon, while 2026 Club Membership will go on sale shortly.
The season includes two byes, across the King’s Birthday weekend in early June and again in mid-July, before the home and away season concludes on Saturday August 29. A three-week finals series will follow in September.
With a strong block of early home games, an ANZAC Day showdown, and plenty of traditional rivalries on the horizon, the 2026 fixture sets the stage for an exciting year at Boss James Reserve.
