Max Coughlin has won the 2024 Hampton Rovers Best & Fairest award, his first, and the third different player to claim the Bob Cave Medal in as many years. While Bella Cameron was the women’s best, at last Friday’s Presentation Night.
It was a great evening at a full Sandy by the Bay to celebrate a successful year for the club.
Life Membership was awarded to Jason Nicholl and Peter Civitarese for their tireless work for the club, while Stan Oldfield was named best club person.
For the Senior Men’s team, Max Coughlin took out the 2024 Best & Fairest on 54 votes, ahead of captain Christian Carnovale on 42 and Max van der Straaten on 37.
Coughlin had a breakout season for the Rovers where he played all 21 games, kicking 22 goals and featuring in the best players on 13 occasions.
Bella Cameron won the Sue Anderson Medal as best and fairest in the senior women’s team and also winning the Rovers of the year award, while Bryanna Arnold won the Jodie Combe Perpetual Trophy as best first year player.
For the Premiership-winning Under 19’s, Kai Carrigan was awarded the McGregor Medal as best and fairest, with Zach Ziesing runner-up and best finals player.
In the Reserves, it was Scott Ebbott claiming the best and fairest (Dom Devola Medal) and in the Thirds, Darcy Merlo.
