Round 2 v Parkdale Vultures

The Hampton Rovers host local rivals Parkdale Vultures at Trevor Barker Oval on Saturday. All five teams are at home on Saturday – at Trevor Barker, Boss James and Castlefield.

At Sandringham, the Reserves start early at 11:15am, followed by the Seniors at 2pm. The Rovers had a good win over Oakleigh to start the 2024 season, while the Vultures recorded a massive victory over Glen Eira, with former AFL player Mitch Brown booting 10 goals.

An on-ground ANZAC ceremony will occur prior to the main game.

Various milestones were announced at Thursday Selection Night at the Hampton Bowls Club last night, the major one in the men’s being club stalwart Nick Jewell playing his 200th game this Saturday. A great effort by a bloke who has battled injury over his career. A couple of 150 club game milestones to Hugo Lay and Andrew WoolstonMax Coughlin 100 senior games and in the women’s, Hayley Gould, captain of the team and the fourth player to reach 50 games behind Mandy Naylor, Harmoni Collins and Bianca Lenarcic.  Congratulations to all players on their achievement.

Limited spots remain for the second Home Game Luncheon of 2024 at the Sandy by the Bay function centre. Last week was a hit with more than 100 people in attendance.
