Marty Pask signs on as Rovers Senior Coach

The Hampton Rovers Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Marty Pask as Senior Coach for the 2024 season.

Marty joins the Rovers with more than 10 years of coaching experience in the Eastern Football League and VAFA following his playing days in the AFL and VFL.

Rovers President Gary Nash said he was excited with the appointment of Marty, saying “he brings a wealth of experience, and our young list is committed and ready to take the next step…a great combination.

“To Marty, his wife Sharni and daughters Shyla and Montana, a big welcome to Roverland. We are ready to write the next chapter in our 95th year and are glad you will be part of it.”

On the field, Marty represented Queensland at U18 level before being drafted to the Brisbane Lions in 2004. After moving to the Western Bulldogs, he finished at Werribee in the VFL. He also played for the University Blacks and represented the VAFA on one occasion.

Marty brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Rovers with a Level 3 AFL accreditation. He’s coached AJAX in VAFA Premier B for three seasons, before spending 10 years coaching in the top division of the Eastern Football League at Balwyn, Vermont and most recently, Norwood.

Following his appointment, Marty said “I am excited to be joining the Hampton Rovers community. Meeting the committee and learning about their ambitions for this club gave me great confidence our values align.

“I am looking to forward to growing with this group of players. We want to be ambitious, curious and represent our community with a high-end football program – we want any young footballer playing in our extensive Junior program to aspire to be a Senior Player. We want our Senior players to be the best people they can be and something our community will be proud of.

“I can’t wait to lead the football club with Gary, Christian and the rest of our leaders within the Club. Go Rovers!”

Preparations for the 2024 season have already commenced, while a Meet & Greet was held on Thursday October 26 and Pre-Season Training will officially commence on November 13.

The club is also now seeking applications for a 2024 Reserves Coach.

Go Rovers.
