The club is saddened by the news of Ian “Zunter” Alexander’s passing on the weekend.
A Life Member of the Hampton Rovers Football Club, Ian was a regular at home games, walking down from the Concierge on the corner of South and Bluff Roads, where he looked after his bed-ridden wife.
He managed to visit Boss James Reserve earlier this month and was very happy to see such a large crowd in attendance and the Rovers defeating Mazenod.
“Zunter” played 160 senior and 12 Under 19 games for the Rovers from 1951 to 1963, winning the seniors B&F in 1962. He was a tireless worker for the club, being Secretary for 6 years from 1960 to 1965 and doubling up as Treasurer in 1960.
The club sends its condolences to Ian’s family.
RIP Zunter
