Rovers host Old Mentonians

Hampton Rovers are back at the Boss, hosting Old Mentonians in round 6 VAFA action, one of four home games for the club on Saturday.

After a dominant win over Preston Bullants at home last week, the Rovers will be looking to make it three wins on the trot, but Old Mentonians will be no pushover, having won a couple of games and able to cause an upset. Hampton currently sit second on the table, behind the undefeated Monash Blues.

Three changes to the senior side this week – with Nick Murnane coming in for his first senior game of the year. The Seniors get underway at 2:00pm, with the Reserves at 11:40am.

It’s also a double-header at Castlefield Reserve, with the Senior Women’s team kicking things off at 9:20am vs Bulleen Templestowe, followed by the Thirds against South Melbourne Districts at 11:40am. The Under 19s take on Old Haileybury at Princes Park commencing at 11:40am.

After a sell-out 130 at lunch last week, it’s looking like another big one this week, with in excess of 90 already booked for Saturday’s Home Game Luncheon. There may be a few seats available if you get in quick – contact Gary Nash. Commences at 12 midday, with the bar running through until the end of half time of the seniors (around 3:15pm). It may be a cold one outside but enjoy the comfort of the social rooms and grab a barista coffee from inside – available all day.

Get along and cheer on the Rovers and get to Boss James Reserve for the seniors game. The bar will open following the main game at around 4:30pm. Live scores are available here and you can follow the club’s Twitter and Instagram accounts for updates.
