ANZAC Day

There will be a different lead-up to Saturday’s home game, with Hampton Rovers players & officials to attend the Dawn Service at Hampton RSL on ANZAC Day.

Training will then follow at Boss James Reserve, commencing at approximately 7:45am, with a BBQ breakfast taking place at 9am. Supporters are welcome to attend both the Dawn Service and breakfast. There will be no training Thursday evening.

The Dawn Service commences at 5:50am, therefore we ask those attending to arrive around 5:40am – feel free to join the players and officials who’ll be wearing black slacks and a Rovers shirt/jumper.

For those interested, back at the Hampton RSL from midday will be two-up, with Gary Nash and Jim Westhead in charge.

Hampton Rovers host Marcellin in their second home game of the 2019 season this Saturday at Boss James Reserve.

Regrettably, the club is forced to break with tradition and won’t be conducting an on-ground ANZAC ceremony after the RSL Victoria Branch communicated to sporting clubs that they feel it’s not appropriate to conduct formal veteran commemorative occasions after ANZAC Day. We will however have some special guests in attendance at the Luncheon and tossing the coin prior to the start of the game.
