As the 2018 VAFA season fast approaches, so does the re-introduction of the Hampton Rovers Thirds team. However, for this to be a reality, now is the time for players and officials to put their hand up and commit to the team.
While the club doesn’t necessarily expect would-be Thirds players to be giving it their all at pre-season training, players are of course welcome and encouraged to get along to a few sessions – training continues each Monday and Wednesday 6pm at Boss James Reserve.
The club requires a coach, team manager, and other officials/volunteers to help the team get up. We also need to hear from players who are keen to play this year. It is absolutely the club’s intention to get the Thirds back up and running in 2018 – but we need assistance. The Thirds is all about fun, enjoying your footy, keeping fit and perfect for players who cannot commit to regular training.
If you think you can help out (coach, team manager, umpire, other official/volunteer role), please contact the club.
Players – you can now register online to play for the Rovers in 2018 (click here for info). If you haven’t already, join the Rovers Thirds Facebook Group here.
The Rovers had over 200 registered players across five senior teams in 2017 and the aim is to increase that number in 2018. Get involved today!
