Lachie Wheeler 300 Games

A significant milestone this weekend for Lachlan Wheeler who’ll run out for his 300th VAFA game for the Hampton Rovers Football Club.

Lachie’s Rovers history quickly took shape becoming a member of the 1999 Under 19 premiership team. He has received many accolades during his distinguished career from coaches’ awards to most consistent, followed by being the reserves captain from 2007 until 2009.

He has claimed the reserves B&F twice, runner-up once and third-placed B&F once along the way.

Off the field, Lachie is a great clubman who has contributed so much and continues to do so. He has served as club secretary from 2008-2011 and received Club Membership in 2013.

Club President Steve Anderson spoke highly of Lachie ahead of his milestone game,

“Wheels has been incredible in his journey to 300 games, taking on opponents a lot bigger, but none can match his courage. Not only has he racked up 300, he would have done another 100 plus running water for the Seniors after playing in the Ressies. Every club relies on people like Lachie and now we thank and congratulate him on the achievement.”

Get along to Boss James Reserve this Saturday when the Reserves take on Williamstown CYMS, commencing at 11:40am.

The club congratulates Lachie Wheeler on reaching 300 VAFA games!
