Seniors

Rovers at the Boss v Williamstown

VAFA footy returns this weekend and the Rovers are back at the Boss, hosting Williamstown CYMS in Anthony Quon’s first game in charge as senior coach.

All sections had a break last weekend for representative footy, with Rovers captain Christian Carnovale featuring in the best players for the U19 Big V against AFL Victoria at Frankston Oval.

The Seniors showed improvement against third-placed Old Ivanhoe a couple of weeks back and will be looking to continue that improvement against Williamstown this Saturday. With Anthony Quon away for work commitments last round, this round 12 clash will be his first in charge as senior coach on match day.

The seniors kick-off at 2pm with the Reserves at 11:40am. In the early game, Lachlan Wheeler will run out for his 300th VAFA game. Read more about this amazing milestone here >

Supporters are urged to book in now for the pre-game President’s Luncheon. The cost is $30 which includes a main course meal, cheese & biscuits with drinks available at bar prices. The lunch gets underway at 12:30pm with the bar open from midday. Book through Gary Nash on gnash@jte.com.au or sms/call 0407 313 054. View more details here >

Also on Saturday, the Under 19 firsts take on arch rivals Ormond at EE Gunn Reserve commencing at 9:20am and the U19 seconds travel to Gordon Barnard Reserve to face Old Camberwell at 2pm.

The Women are in action on Sunday against Old Mentonians, commencing at 3:10pm at Castlefield Reserve.
