Seniors

Rovers away v Old Ivanhoe

Hampton Rovers travel to Chelsworth Park on Saturday to take on an in-form Old Ivanhoe following a big for the club.

The Rovers will be looking to rebound from recent poor performances following the mid-week parting with senior coach Daniel Hughes. New interim coach Anthony Quon took charge of his first training session Thursday evening at Boss James Reserve and the buzz amongst the playing group and in the rooms afterwards was evident.

Last time the two teams met, it was the Rovers who ran out 38-point victors at Boss James Reserve. However, Old Ivanhoe have improved, winning their past three matches and will prove difficult opposition come Saturday.

Get along to Ivanhoe to cheer on the boys as they look to turn their season around and finish the back-end of the season strong. If you’re unable to make the trip, then keep up-to-date with live scores on the Rovers website and mobile site, plus updates on Twitter and Instagram.

The Reserves will be looking to continue their good form and push for a finals position – they kick-off at 11:40am with the main game at 2pm – Chelsworth Park, Irvine Road, Ivanhoe.

It’s an Under 19 double-header at Boss James Reserve on Saturday with the seconds taking on St Bedes/Mentone Tigers at 11:40am and the firsts coming up against local rivals Old Haileybury at 2pm. If you’re not heading along to Ivanhoe, then get down to the Boss and support the young Rovers.

On Sunday, the Women take on Ajax in a top-of-the-table clash at Albert Park. The Rovers sit second on the table with Ajax on top. The match kicks-off at 12 midday at Gary Smorgon Oval, Albert Park.

The club congratulates Richard Atkins who has been named to make his senior VFL debut for the Sandringham Zebras on Sunday when they face Werribee at Trevor Barker Oval. Luke Verma has also been selected which means two Hampton Rovers players will take the field – the match kicks-off at 2pm.
