Help wanted for 2017

With playing numbers tracking at an all-time high for the seniors, the club is urgently seeking people to fill a variety of roles to help us run a successful season.

In 2017, the senior section of the club will field five teams in the VAFA, including two Under 19 sides and a Senior Women’s team in the inaugural year of the women’s competition. Already, over 135 players have registered, with many more to come before the season kicks-off on April 8.

Getting involved in a local footy club is rewarding and the club the size of the Rovers cannot survive without the generous support of volunteers.

The club is currently seeking helpers for the following roles:

Team Managers: Seniors, Reserves, Under 19 Reserves
Runners: Seniors, Under 19 Reserves
VAFA Reserves Field Umpire (paid role)

There are also occasional roles throughout the season for boundary umpires, goal umpires, timekeeper and scoreboard operator.

If you are interested, please email the President:

Even if you can only commit to part of the season or particular weeks, the club would love to hear from you.

There is also an opportunity available for a Digital Media Coordinator – covering all aspects of digital and social media at the club, editorial, photography, video and more. Perfect for someone looking to get into sports media or currently at university and looking to gain experience. If interested, please email

Meanwhile, one position remains vacant on the senior committee. If you would like to have a say in the running of the club, please get in touch.

Looking forward to a big 2017 at the Rovers!
