2017 VAFA Fixture released

The 2017 VAFA Premier C fixture has been released, with the Rovers set to face Kew away from home to open the season.

Hampton Rovers return to Premier C in 2017 for the first time since 2014 when the club won its most recent senior Premiership, having spent the past two seasons in Premier B.

Starting the season away from home, the Rovers play their first of nine home games in round two, following the Easter break, taking on the newly-promoted Old Mentonians, in what will be a big day at Boss James Reserve as ANZAC Day is recognised.

2016 division one Premiers Old Geelong visit the Boss in round six and that’ll be followed by an away game against fellow relegated side Old Haileybury, with the return game against the local rivals in 15.

The final home game of the season will be against Caulfield Grammarians in round 17 before the Rovers take on Old Mentonians at Keysborough to round out the home & away season.

The 2017 season will consist of three bye’s – April 15 (Easter), June 10 (Queens Birthday) and July 8.

The club won’t play two home games in successive weeks throughout the season, with the only two home games in a row (round 14-15) separated by a week off, which was requested by the club to ensure luncheon attendance isn’t impacted.

Pre-Season Training is going strong under new senior coach Daniel Hughes with excellent numbers and a great feeling within the group. Training continues until December 16. The club welcome all new and existing players in 2017 – click here for details on playing for the Rovers >
