Senior Hampton Rovers players helped run Saturday’s Auskick session at Boss James Reserve, something which has become an annual event.
This year, Hampton Rovers Auskick has almost 200 kids running around every Saturday morning and the kids look up to the senior players as their idols which is great to see.
A number of senior and under 19 players helped out with various activities prior to their big game against Old Brighton on Saturday which they of course went on to win in a thrilling finish.
The club is working to improve the football pathway for players at the club, and that starts with Auskick, with the transition through to Junior football, then into the Seniors. From there, the club has an official affiliation with the Sandringham Zebras VFL club which of course is affiliated with the St Kilda Football Club, while naturally there is also a link to the Sandringham Dragons U18 TAC Cup side.
Earlier in the year, Auskick coaches joined Senior training on the track and then following in the club rooms for Thursday selection night dinner.
