2016 Rovers Women’s Lunch

At this Saturday’s home game v Fitzroy, we recognise the wonderful women of our great club with our annual Rovers Women’s Lunch and we welcome everyone to get along.

Footy club’s would be what they are without the great support of females and the Hampton Rovers Football Club is grateful for the many women who’re involved in the club to make it what it is. From the many volunteers, sports trainers and staff, to the wives, girlfriends, mums and supporters.

Female involvement is growing in footy across many levels, participation continues to grow, and the AFL is launching a national women’s league next year. The Hampton Rovers Football Club is also exploring the possibility and is super keen to have its own junior and youth girls teams in the near future with the VAFA launching an U23 women’s competition in 2017.

We invite all the extended Rovers female community to our 2016 Women’s Lunch this Saturday at Boss James Reserve. Our special guest will be former Bayside Mayor Felicity Frederico, talking on women in sport and community sporting clubs and how her project “Grass Ceilings” is progressing.

The cost is just $30 per head and includes a quality main meal, cheese & biscuits, and drinks are available at bar prices. Or you can purchase a 2016 club membership which includes entry to the lunch. All women in attendance will receive a mother’s day gift. To secure your spot email Gary Nash on gnash@jte.com.au or sms/call him on 0407 313 054 (please book prior to Friday). Our last lunch sold out and we’re expecting strong numbers again, so bookings are essential.

It’s a big Triple-Header at Boss James Reserve on Saturday with the Under 19s playing against Marcellin in the early game, followed by the Reserves and Seniors vs Fitzroy.

Later in the evening, it’s the first big senior social function of the season with the traditional Ladies Night. This year our chosen charity is Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision – funding medical research into finding a cure for Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes. From 7pm at the Boss. Free entry for ladies, $10 for guys. Features great drink specials, finger good, music and of course the 2016 Hampton Rovers Players Revue!

Also happening Saturday morning, is the traditional Mother’s Day Auskick session. Due to the VAFA scheduling the U19s at Boss James, Rovers Auskick has been relocated to Castlefield Reserve in Ludstone Street this week and the mum’s will be right in the thick of it with the annual Mum’s Longest Kick competition!
