Hampton Rovers v Old Brighton

The Rovers host local rivals Old Brighton in the biggest home game of 2016 this Saturday at Boss James Reserve. Book now for the ANZAC Day home game luncheon. We’ll also be supporting Stand Up Events on the day.

Being the Saturday before ANZAC Day on Monday, a commemorative service will be held on the ground prior to the main game.

It’s a big rivalry with various connections between the two clubs and a number of former Hampton Rovers players who attended BGS now playing for Old Brighton while several former BGS students opted to stay loyal to the Rovers over the off-season.

Old Brighton won their first game of the season on Saturday while the Rovers are winless after two rounds sitting eighth on the ladder and will be looking for the first victory of the season come Saturday.

A big crowd is expected at Boss James Reserve on Saturday and we encourage everyone to get along. The Reserves kick-off the day at 11:40am followed by the Seniors at 2:00pm. While at Castlefield Reserve, the Under 19s take on Mazenod commencing at 11:00am.

Get in quick and book a spot at the 2016 Hampton Rovers ANZAC Day Luncheon. As well as recognising ANZAC Day, the lunch will be supporting Stand Up Events which has been formed to raise awareness of gender equality in sport. Founder Angie Greene will be a guest speaker. Commencing at midday, the cost is just $30 per head and bookings are essential – contact Gary Nash on or sms/call 0407 313 054 (by midday Friday to secure your spot). PLEASE NOTE: The luncheon is reaching capacity with only limited spots remaining.

We encourage everyone to purchase a Rovers Club Membership in 2016. A bronze membership ($140) gets you 5 lunches, silver ($250) all lunches, and gold ($500) access for you and partner to all. Purchase online today or at the club on Saturday. Click here to view packages and purchase now >
