Hampton Rovers share a rich history with the Hampton Cricket Club and it extends far wider than sharing both Castlefield and Boss James Reserves. The two Clubs have a great working relationship and regularly pool resources on mutually beneficial projects. The Seahorses – Bayside’s local Turf Cricket Club are looking for new players and no matter your age or ability, there are plenty of opportunities to playcricket at Hampton.
Milo In2Cricket – Kids aged 5-8 meet new friends and have a lot of fun. Held at Boss James on a Friday night, it is the cricket equivalent of Auskick – where boys and girls are taught the skills to play this great game. Some parents like to join in the coaching, others may want to sit on the hill and enjoy a balmy summer evening.
T20 Blast – Fast paced games for those slightly more experienced girls and boys aged 7-10. Hosted by Hampton at Boss James Reserve on Saturday mornings and run by Cricket Australia staff – the music is blaring and everybody has a ball. The games are over in 90 minutes, but every kid gets an opportunity to bat and bowl.
Junior Cricket – There are 10 hard-ball junior teams for kids aged 9-18 all led by accredited coaches. It doesn’t matter the level of experience – there is a grade that is both challenging and fun. And if you have friends already playing at Hampton (or a group of friends who want to play together) they can certainly be slotted in the same team.
Senior Cricket – Hampton have 6 senior teams – playing both one and two day games – on Saturday or Sunday. If any parents want to resume careers that have long been put on hold, or might want to entertain the thought of playing with their kids – this is definitely your chance..
