Juniors

Juniors Update – July 16

What a great effort we put in last week. It was the coldest Sunday in 25 years. There were kids wearing 14 layers under their jumper; multiple hot chocolates at half time to warm the hands and the stomachs; parents using their heated seats in the car  to warm the kids at half time and incredibly there were no late withdrawals due to weather. A huge effort kids. If you can play in those conditions you can play in anything.

Results

  • Under 8 ‘s went down to Banksia Oval and played great wet weather footy. Played in front and put enormous pressure on their opposition.
  • Under 9 Orange played Mordi Brae. Mordi probably wished they had stayed under the “doona” as our boys were relentless.
  • Under 9 Blue played the Brighton Beach boys. We were the ones singing “Beside the seaside” not the Brighton Boys.
  • Under 10 Silver were very competitive against a determined Ajax team.
  • Under 10 Yellow came up against a tough team in Mordi Brae. Mordi Brae is always competitive but our boys played the conditions well.
  • Under 11 South/White were too good for Waverley Park. HR – 7.9 – 51 def. WP – 0.4 – 4
  • Under 11 West have been super competitive all year. The score here doesn’t tell the true story . HR – 3.3- 21 lost to Chelt – 9.5 – 59
  • Under 12 Blue won their 5th game in the last six. HR – 3.7 -25 def. Mordi Brae – 2.1 – 13.
  • Under 13 Div 3 played out of their skins defeating the Beauie Sharks . HR – 8.8 – 56 def. Beau 2.0 – 12
  • Under 14 Div 2 went down in a close one. HR – 6.5 – 41 lost to Ajax – 8.3 – 51
  • Under 14 Div 5 had a bye. Good week to have a bye.
  • Under 16 Div 1 played their bogey team and went down HR – 5.5 – 35 lost to Ormond 6.4 – 40.
  • Under 16 Div 3 East Sandy went down to Beauie HR/ES 3.4 – 22 lost to Beauie 12/11 – 83.
  • Under 17 Div 1 are concentrating on one drill this week Caggs ??? HR – 0.13 – 13 lost to Ormond 4.5 – 29.

Behaviour
Over the last couple of weeks the League have reported some clubs for abusing umpires and for bad language coming from players. We are not one of those clubs. The behaviour of our members has been very good this season. However, we as a club will not tolerate any form of bad language, abuse of an umpire or bad sportsmanship by player and parent.
Please be mindful that we are role models for not only our kids but everyone associated with the club and community.
